I fixed up you attribution to quote what I said.

With regard to Bluetooth Dongles. I have Bluetooth built into all of
my Macintoshes and into my HP Notebook, - My FreeBSD machine. That
said the built in Bluetooth on my HP works quite well. The one
bluetooth dongle I do have experience with is the DBT-120 from D-Link
which I used on an earlier mac. This worked fine although it was only
a bluetooth 1.0 or 1.1 device so I didn't expect mind numbing speed
    from the thing.

Overall, I wasn't really pointing the Bluetooth Sync comment at you as
much I was at David. I've never been comfortable with USB sync on any
of my Treo's. I never got it to work on my Treo 300. I achieved a
reasonably stable USB Sync on my Treo 600. My Treo 755p works okay.
Again I think that the problem here is that the Palm devices try to
both recharge and sync through the same cable and that requires some
gymnastics from the device and the operating system.

If I understand USB correctly the USB cable doesn't automatically have
a line dedicated to providing power to all plugged in devices. Instead
when the device appears it negotiates with the central hub via an
operating system driver and asks for a specific number of milliamps of
current on the power line. The os either grants the request or
doesn't; on my mac if I plug in a USB hard drive to the USB port on my
keyboard I get a dialog box saying the keyboard cannot provide the
power that the hard drive requires.

So between that and convenience I'm saying that for me Bluetooth Sync
is more important than USB Sync. YMMV.
