I have a new Palm Tungsten T|X and am using version 0.99.9.17 of JPilot.

No matter what approach I get I always received the following error
    message:

    ****************************************
     Syncing on device /dev/pilot
     Press the HotSync button now
    ****************************************
pi_bind error: /dev/pilot No such file or directory
Check your serial port and settings
    Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_BIND
    Finished

I replaced the device address with usb and still get...

    ****************************************
     Syncing on device usb
     Press the HotSync button now
    ****************************************
pi_bind error: usb No such file or directory
Check your serial port and settings
    Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_BIND
    Finished

Can anyone through some light on the subject. I am using a high spec
ASUS desktop running Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron).
