What I did: setenv LANG fr_FR.utf8 jpilot I am running GTK2.12 and 1.6.0-pre4 on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon(7.04). The support for the function we use has been around since gtk2.0 so it is probably either the LANG variable not getting set correctly or a lack of the translation packs.
