    Well, it does that even if I delete .jpilot (so Jpilot starts fresh) and 
    the PDA is freshly cleaned up by a previous hard reset. So both start 
    from scratch. Even so, .19 mangles something on the PDA.

    Yes. They were created by the .19 version, which cannot be used to sync 
    the PDA because it throws it in a loop. I need to at least export the 
    Contacts in a format that Palm Desktop understands.
    
    By the way, I'm looking at the Calendar export options, and I can't find 
    anything that is compatible with Palm Desktop.
    I've found the ical2vcal utility that comes with some KDE application, 
    and I used it to convert the ical file to vcal, and Palm Desktop 
    accepted the file, but most events are imported with the wrong time, the 
    repeat info does not work, etc. It's a mess.
