I did not find exactly what I was looking for. I purchased a Treo 680 last week. Heard that all Palms normally have no problems with Linux. I succeeded to sync it with jpilot on two different machines with OpenSUSE, and an old laptop with win2000 and outlook, to transfer the data from my dying iPAQ. Now it syncs sometimes, sometimes not. It is irregular, with no systematic error. the 680 only says: **************************************** Syncing on device /dev/pilot Press the HotSync button now **************************************** then it just sits there. Clicking on the sync button again prodeces: J-Pilot: sync PID = 32607 J-Pilot: press the hotsync button on the cradle or "kill 32607" After doing so a few times it sometimes syncs. I actually got it to install programms a few minutes ago. I tried a resynch for a backup, no-go. Why is it so hit-and-miss? Besides that, often the treo 680 reboots for no reason when the synching starts, especially with KPilot using HotSync Is there a procedure to syncing peculiar to the Treo 680? Note that I use x86_64 in US English with a German Treo 680. :-) Al
