Is anyone using the "Export as LDIF" feature of the Address Book? I'd
like to implement a Global Address Book and LDAP is the perfect way to
    distribute it.

That said I've played with the feature before but I wasn't able to get
it working without massaging the output using sed. The output uses two
features of LDIF that I'm not familiar with. One tries to set the root
DN. The other encodes multiline fields as base64 which results in the
record being dropped on insert into my LDAP server. Sadly this plays
very well with a bug in evolution which re-wrote every address in my
palm pilot with two lines for addresses. (Just in case my mom changed
her address to 135 Mom's Lane Suite 300...)

I'm using jpilot on FreeBSD and have been doing so since 1999 with a
variety of Palm Pilots and Treos.
