    The DTR line refers to a serial interface.  This will not work with palm
    devices that use a USB port.
    
    There is a way to get the same functionality with a USB device, but it
    requires a fair amount of technical know-how.  I've written about it
    many times in the past, but the basic idea is to hook into either udev
    or hotplug, depending on your system, and then launch jpilot with the -s
    switch, which will initiate a sync on a running jpilot.  Unfortunately,
    the details depend significantly on the kernel you are using, as well as
    the userland tools you have installed.
    
    If there is interest, I can post the various combinations that I know to
    work.
