It must be related somehow to the 2.6 kernels. My fiancee's ThinkPad 600E is still running the 2.4.33 kernel and her Palm PDA syncs via USB with no problems. Her former Handspring Visor Pros also worked just fine. On my workstation/server with the 2.6 kernel, sync via a serial port (which my vintage-2001 Kyocera QCP-6035 uses) has also worked with no problems. The Treo is the first USB-connected PDA I've tried. Perhaps someone makes a USB->serial adapter and I can try that instead. (I have a serial->USB adapter, but I want the reverse that allows me to plug a USB cable end into a serial port.) Rich -- Richard B.
