Today I bit the bullet and seriously thinned my checking account, by buying a Treo 700p to replace the ol' Kyocera QCP-6035. I plugged in the USB sync cable and /var/log/messages told me it recognized the device on /dev/ttyUSB0 _and_ on /dev/ttyUSB1! Here's the log: Jun 21 17:02:46 salmo kernel: usb 2-4: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 9 Jun 21 17:02:46 salmo kernel: usb 2-4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Jun 21 17:02:46 salmo kernel: visor 2-4:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected Jun 21 17:02:46 salmo kernel: usb 2-4: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0 Jun 21 17:02:46 salmo kernel: usb 2-4: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB1 WTF?? Anyway, on the 2.6.19.2 kernel, there is no ttyUSBn; there are, however, /dev/tts/USB0 and /dev/tts/USB1. My question is how do I set up jpilot so I can run 'restore handheld?'. I can make a softlink of /dev/pilot, but to which USBn do I point it? TIA, Rich -- Richard B.
