I'm stuck! I've never compiled a kernel. I've only compiled small
things. Please direct me to your HOWTO.

Last night I downloaded (with synaptic) the 2.4.27-2-k6 kernel (that's
my processor) and the header files that go with it. I chose the 2.4.27
because I was advised that the 6 kernel might require more than my old
computer can provide (and by the speed of things after I put the 2.6
kernel in I would say that is so).

Where is Torvalds when you REALLY need him anyways! :D
