Thanks for the pointer to this thread.  I updated all the dates on the 
Treo to be real dates and then did a full backup.  I tried changing some 
data in the note field of a keyring entry in jpilot, but had the same 
issue.  The treo did a reset and jpilot showed:

dlp_WriteRecord failed

If I make the change on the Treo it works.
