Which distro are you using? If SuSE 10.# try "lsusb" and "hwinfo --usb"
If your device is a USB device it may show up in different places.
/dev/pilot is normally a link to a /dev/file. On this system it is in
/dev/input and controlled by udev. and when udev finds it lsusb will
show it. However, typically it is known as ttyUSB0 or 1 in /dev/input
or just /dev itself. hwinfo will normally show its path.
You may also need to check "lsmod" and confirm you have usb and visor
modules available.
