    1. I guess you are on a Debian based system - could you let us know just which 
    one?
    2. then could you let us know what sort of Palm you have.
    
    When all runs smoothly you plug in your palm, press sync on the palm and then 
    sync on jpilot. If you have problems we do need just a little more info 
    before giving directions to you.
