    The limitation is a Palm OS limitation, actually. You can have longer
    memos, you just can't edit them. I did some testing, and the actual byte
    amount you can have is 65,490 bytes. 
    
    OS5's version of Memos extends this length of course, but we still have
    to continue to support the "Classic" 'Memo Pad' application. 
    
    That being said, what works on your 650, should continue to work on your
    680, as they are both OS5 devices.
