No, I've never done a restore. Last time I switched PDAs, I did it quick and dirty with the Windows Palm Desktop app. Things got a little gorked, but it wasn't hard to straighten out, particularly since both devices at least used the same Palm version. Doing it again, I would go ahead and use the pilot-link restore function, using a directory containing only the data from the four main apps (four .pdb files). Perhaps there's more that needs to be known. You might want to provide more information about the your devices, Palm versions, etc. -TR
