[jp] migrating from one pda to another: moving data

The restore handheld seems to be primarily  for getting the same data
onto the one and the same pda, and not for migrating purposes. Have
you tried this?
Is there a safer, more usual, way to move data (in my case, just the
main 4: calendar, phonebook, todo, memo pad)?
