My guess is that the JPilot "Restore Handheld" button will do this. You might
look it up in the JPilot manual ("Restoring a Palm Pilot") and figure out
which .prc files to exclude, if not all of them. And I would first back up
the applications which exist on the new PDA (in a separate {some_dir}!).
BTW, I wonder what happens when a database gets restored to a PDA without the
associated application. Perhaps, since JPilot uses the pilot-link library for
restoring, this information exists in the documentation for pilot-link. Or
perhaps it depends on the hardware and Palm version.
I hope that's enough information to safely attempt the operation and be able
to get back to where you started if everything doesn't go right.
