    Doing the udev thing is what really needs to be done. However, as a quickie
    fix, I suggest you simply run the following at the command prompt:
    
    $> modprobe visor
    
    You'll have to rerun it if you reboot. But it worked for me and it's simple
    and harmless.
    
    Also, you might try simply entering "/dev/ttyUSB1 into JPilot, thus bypassing
    any problem there might be with permissions, mode, etc of the /dev/pilot
    link.
