[jp] Make-compile problems on 0.99.8

Hello

I maybe doing somthing wrong but I would appreciate some help.

I run on Ubuntu-5.10

I updated pilot-link to 0.12.0 pre4. 

I am able to sync my new Palm T-E2 from command line.

I un tared the 0.99.8.

Run 
  ./configure
  make

then received 

"No targets specified and no makefile found.  Stop"

In the jpilot-0.99.8 I only see Makefile.am and Makefile.in.
No Makefile has been noticed.

Another question is if the rebulding of the jpilot help to sync dirctly
from the conduit? The new E2 has bigger segments then 64k forcing me to
go over to pilot-link 0.12.0 pre4
