I'd rely on environment variables instead, perhaps $USER, $USERNAME or $LOGNAME in this case, which should all reference the same user. Maybe even point jpilot-sync's homedir to $HOME/$USERNAME or some such. I've never personally done this, because J-Pilot doesn't support my primary Palm device, but if others want to test it, report back and let us know if it works. -- David A.
