Here are the steps I took: 1. Downloaded the SUSE-Linux-10.1-GM-DVD-i386.iso image and installed it in VMware. md5sum: d3e88517b2f925c60e7286d79e0da82e 2. Did a complete install of SUSE with everything but mobile, games and multimedia. I included GNOME, KDE, development tools and everything else (~6.7 gigabytes of data) 3. Installed the VMware tools package to give me proper video and network drivers. 4. Checked out the latest J-Pilot code from cvs with the following: cvs -z9 -d:pserver:anonymous:@jpilot.org:/cvs/jpilot co jpilot 5. Ran sh ./autogen.sh with no arguments, just the default values 6. make And what I ended up with was a working J-Pilot build after a minute or two. md5sum: 58d84218e68a1e573f31bf22a1ddcd17 jpilot I didn't have to tweak the source, add any additional package or change anything. This was literally a default install + jpilot CVS and it worked right out of the box. I'll try it against 0.12.0 and see how that fares in a moment. Did you update your SUSE box with newer software or packages from the default installation? Perhaps something that came down with those updates changed or broke something. I'll snapshot this and do an update and see if things change.
